If you're a SCARS member, you too can get a classy nc6sv.org e-mail account! Here’s how the nc6sv.org e-mail system works:

To obtain an e-mail account through nc6sv.org, simply contact the webmaster with the following information:

First things first - change your password!

  1. Browse to 1&1's Webmail. Log in using the e-mail address and password provided.

  2. This will take you to your main e-mail page.

  3. Click on "Settings".

  4. Click on "Change Password".

To use 1&1 Webmail to read and send messages using your favorite web browser (Netscape, Firefox, Internet Explorer and others), just follow steps 1 and 2 above, using your new password. The major benefit of using 1&1 Webmail is that you can access your e-mail from any computer that has access to the web. The major drawback is that it is painfully slow.

You can also use any POP3/IMAP e-mail program to upload and download your messages. (In other words, you can use the e-mail program you're probably already using, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape Mail, Thunderbird, Eudora, and so on.) Browse here and click on the link titled, “Setting up e-mail clients…” to find details for setting up most popular e-mail programs. If you know how to use IMAP, feel free. Otherwise, we suggest using POP3.

e-mail forwarding is the easiest! Messages sent to yourcall@nc6sv.org should simply appear at the destination address you specified, just like the ARRL’s mail service.

In any case, spam filtering and virus protection will be turned on unless you expressly decline this service!
